1. face the screen as if it had been waiting for you.
2. find a place on the page where there is no text. rest your gaze there for the duration of one breath.
3. name the room you are in. do not say it aloud.
4. walk to a mirror. observe whether you have brought a stranger with you. if not, return.
5. stand outside the page and watch yourself read it.
6. open a memory you have not visited in a long while. close it again before it warms.
7. say, internally, the word noemata until it loses meaning. then continue past that point.
8. extinguish nothing. ignite nothing.
9. at the bottom of the page, where the next door is, do not yet click. note that you wanted to.
10. now click.
