/ˈhɛks.tʃə.reɪt/
verb · transitive · etym: derived from hexture · attested in the library's indices
to arrange six items in a hexagonal order.
to hexturate is to perform a small geometry on a list. one places six objects so that each is in conversation with its neighbours and one is, briefly, central. kitchen drawers can be hexturated; certainly the hexture room of the labyrinth was, although no one remembers by whom. compare arrangements of three (a trio), four (a square), and five (a hand).
the hexturated arrangement is unstable; it asks to be re-hexturated. the central object can be exchanged. compare also the horalith, which often makes a fine sixth.
in a sentence: "i hexturated the cups on the shelf — one of them is the cup, today."
