left after a storm. the salt is on the back of the card, not the front, which means it was pushed through the slot with the writing facing in. the lighthouse has been automatic for years, so the card is either old or a courtesy from someone who knows the post is unmanned and wishes the gesture maintained.

a card with a title and no name is a way of saying: the work is the person. the keeper has been many keepers. the letter from the point reads similarly: signed by the function, not the hand.
