a glass cylinder on a small stone plinth in the back of the garden, with a brass funnel that delivers whatever falls into a column anyone can read. the column has been full and the column has been empty; today it is honest.

the gardener once emptied it by tipping it into the rosemary, which is now indistinguishable from rosemary anywhere. the gardener is gone. the cylinder fills itself.
